Jon Ascher was gracious enough to open up his home and let the CCS tag along with him, at the ComiCon.  Words can't express the gratitude we feel towards Jon and his family!

Sergio Aragones is truly one of the biggest inspirations, artistically, and personally!  We were so uplifted, after talking with this amazing guy!

Steve Keeter...well, he's a personal friend of the CCS, and our San Diego trip wouldn't have been complete without this awesome dude!  Check out his youtube channel..you'll thank us, for the introduction.  :)

Jim Lujan is quite possibly one of the most influential artist in the industry, today.  Truly an honor to get to know him.

Devon Devereaux is a close friend of the CCS and we couldn't let this post go without sharing his work.  Trust us, he's awesome...and deserves much love and respect for his accomplishments!

Anthony Bourdain is really as cool and laid back in person, as he appears to be on television.  We talked with him for almost an hour.  Excellent conversation..one of the most humble celebrities around.

Jim Lee and the CCS go waaaayy back.  If you've been around the shop, you know our passion and devotion to Jim.

Stephen Silver...now listen up, folks!  Our Illustrator, George, took Stephen's on-line course for character design.  We encourage all those who aspire to be an artist, to take his course.  You're sure to be as grateful for his lessons, as George was.  Seriously...check him out!

Hey!

The Custom Comic Shop was going through some old boxes in an attempt to straighten up the studio, and stumbled across an old correspondence between our main Illustrator, George Leon, and Jim Lee!  The letter reads:

Siena, Italy  Nov. 0, 1989

Dear George,
As you can see, it takes a great deal of time for me to answer my mail, but the sheer magnitude of your praise has led me to pic up a pen & paper and return a correspondence.  Truth be known, I am living in Italy (until next summer), so it has taken a great deal of time for your letter to reach me.  But I must thank you for your unparalleled interest in my work!  I'm glad someone gets as big a thrill out of it as I do drawing it.

Per your questions
A)  Levin will be recurring to PWJ.  Probably issue 19 or so, but I may have left the book by then, to different pastures.  I may take up X-men if Marc Silvestri relinquishes his position.  There's a tail of Wolverine mini series with Chris Claremont...
B) Here's a partial list of upcoming work:
PJW 14, 15 Covers only
PWJ 16 - 18
PWJ 23 - 25 (tentative)
PUN - Nick Fury graphic novel (August, 1990)
X-Men 256 - 258
Critical Mass #2 (5 pages done in St George style)
X-Men Poster

Again, Thanks for your interest and kind remarks.  I hop I never Let you down.

Sincerely,
Jim Lee

Hi All,

ChipIn proved to be successful for us, once before! We're reaching out again. The Custom Comic Shop is looking to expand our product. How? Making buttons!! We will be using our own art as the designs, and listing them in a new section in our Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/people/CustomComicShop?ref=si_pr

A little information, regarding the CCS..Circumstances require us to be home with our youngest daughter, and we are relying on the talent of our Illustrator, to help keep this ship financially afloat. Working from home, is tough, but we are up for the challenge. Since our funds are extremely limited, we have experienced a little difficulty getting this shop up and running and making us enough money to stay home with our little one. This is why we turn to our friends and family. We just need to supply ourselves with the tools needed, to make this work!

We have researched for quite some time, on what product would best benefit our new product in regards to longevity. The American Button Machines, seem to be the best tool for our shop's creators.

Any donation is much appreciated, and those who can donate $50 or more will receive a sketch as thanks, from our Illustrator. Of course, if you can't donate, it's fine!! You can help, by sharing the link to the ChipIn event to those that you know. Any exposure can only help our event..so please consider passing this event along.

Sincerely,

CCS
